Fuel Cards in Europe, Northern Markets
Market and competitor data and insights into the commercial fuel card sector
In Northern Europe a majority of service stations are unmanned. These offer lower prices which are attractive to fleets which are ineligible for fuel cards. Operators should launch a fleet card which will target this untapped market.
Electric vehicles will change the needs of fleets. Over the next five years the number of electric vehicles in Northern Europe will increase dramatically with governments banning the sale of fossil fuel vehicles from as early as 2025. To meet the changing needs of Northern European commercial fleets, operators should create partnerships with the recharging network and install their own EV charging points.
